23-year-old woman shot dead outside Bronx playground

Bronx detectives are investigating after a 23-year-old woman was shot and killed outside a playground early Thursday morning.
Law enforcement sources said the bloodshed occurred just after midnight on May 28 in front of 2158 Aqueduct Ave., just outside Aqueduct Lands Playground in University Heights.
Officers from the 46th Precinct rushed to the location after receiving a 911 call about the incident. Upon arrival, they found Reyna Caceres of Davidson Avenue in the Bronx, with a single gunshot wound to her left eye.
EMS responded to the scene and rushed Caceres to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police, at press time, did not have information on the motive or suspect(s) involved in the crime.
So far, no arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
