Yesterday we heard that Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo would all launch their upcoming flagship smartphone families in September. But what about sub-brands?
Now the prolific Digital Chat Station on Weibo tells us what to expect from OnePlus and iQOO, specifically when the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16 are going to launch. If you guessed September, you win. For reference, note that the OnePlus 15 and iQOO 15 both launched in October last year in China.
OnePlus 15
This September is going to be a very full month for smartphone launches in China, it seems. Of course, many of these devices will also become available internationally (the OnePlus 16 and iQOO 16 among them), but we assume that won’t happen in September.
There’s usually been at least a few weeks of lag, so late October will probably realistically be the earliest we’d see any of these devices outside of China, maybe even later.
The latest rumor about the OnePlus 16 has us confused about its cameras, while the only thing we know about the iQOO 16 so far is that it’s in development and will be expensive, just like the OnePlus 16.
