Any concerns people had for the North Carolina running game heading into the season may have dissipated after watching the way both true freshmen running backs Omarion Hampton and George Pettaway ran the ball against Florida A&M. Hampton led all Carolina running backs with 14 carries, 101 yards, and two touchdowns. Pettaway only had four carries, but he went off for 51 yards including an impressive 29-yard touchdown.
