As temperatures soar, we SoFlo-ers need to chill. Can the heat be beat?
Yup, you can cream the humidity if you know how.
Here’s the scoop: National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 17, and some parlors and restaurants have special offers for their frozen treats.
It could turn out to be the coolest day of the summer with this guide to chilly desserts worth licking, spooning and sucking (y’know, through a straw).
Keep in mind that the prices may not reflect taxes or gratuities. We’ll be adding to the listing as additional information becomes available.
Participating locations are in Fort Lauderdale, Coral Springs, Aventura, Pinecrest, Coconut Grove, South Miami; ChillN.com
Enjoy a free Limited National Ice Cream Day scoop on Sunday at select locations. The flavors included in the offer are Nutella with brownie, dulce de leche with crunch, biscotti with chocolate sprinkles and mango sorbet. For those unaware of Chill-N, the ice cream parlors handcraft each scoop of ice cream, which is then flash-frozen with liquid nitrogen at -320 degrees Fahrenheit.
This restaurant always has house-made vanilla or pistachio gelatos on the menu — one scoop is $6.50 and two scoops are $10.50. But the pastry teams gets to frequently change out a third flavor option. For National Ice Cream Day, that will be chocolate.
