As temperatures soar, we SoFlo-ers need to chill. Can the heat be beat?

Yup, you can cream the humidity if you know how.

Here’s the scoop: National Ice Cream Day is Sunday, July 17, and some parlors and restaurants have special offers for their frozen treats.

It could turn out to be the coolest day of the summer with this guide to chilly desserts worth licking, spooning and sucking (y’know, through a straw).

Keep in mind that the prices may not reflect taxes or gratuities. We’ll be adding to the listing as additional information becomes available.

Enjoy a free Limited National Ice Cream Day scoop on Sunday at select locations. The flavors included in the offer are Nutella with brownie, dulce de leche with crunch, biscotti with chocolate sprinkles and mango sorbet. For those unaware of Chill-N, the ice cream parlors handcraft each scoop of ice cream, which is then flash-frozen with liquid nitrogen at -320 degrees Fahrenheit.

This restaurant always has house-made vanilla or pistachio gelatos on the menu — one scoop is $6.50 and two scoops are $10.50. But the pastry teams gets to frequently change out a third flavor option. For National Ice Cream Day, that will be chocolate.

Fans of this Wilton Manors ice cream shop know of their signature flavor called “He’s Not Worth It!,” which is made of vanilla and English toffee ice cream with Heath Bar, Oreos, chopped soft caramel and sea salt caramel swirl. But on National Ice Cream Day, Wilton Creamery offers “He’s Not Worth It…The Next Morning!” where that signature dessert has Argyle Coffee Roasters Brazilian coffee, “…roasted a little bit darker for us,” explains pastry chef/owner D.J. Colby. A small (5 ounces) is $5.45, a medium (10 ounces) is $6.35 and a large (15 ounces) is $7.45.
