How to watch the men’s hockey gold-medal game – NBC New York

Don’t forget to set your alarm clocks, hockey fans!
It’s going to be an early morning for many across North America who will be waking up to watch the U.S. take on Canada in the men’s hockey gold-medal game on Sunday at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics.
Team USA will be looking to win its first gold medal in men’s hockey since the “Miracle on Ice” in 1980 and third overall. Standing in their way is a top-seeded Canada team seeking its 10th gold medal and first since 2014.
For the U.S., its the team’s first appearance in the final since 2010, a game they lost 3-2 in overtime to Canada with Sidney Crosby scoring the golden goal.
The rematch is set — and the now 38-year-old Crosby is still on the roster, though he is a game-time decision after missing Canada’s semifinal win with a lower-body injury.
The final will be a battle between two unbeaten teams, with both going 3-0 in the preliminary round. Canada edged Czechia in the quarterfinals with a 4-3 overtime win and then erased a two-goal deficit in their 3-2 semifinal win over defending champion Finland. The U.S defeated Sweden 2-1 in the quarterfinals on Quinn Hughes’ overtime goal and dominated Slovakia 6-2 in the semifinals.
That win guaranteed Team USA its first medal since 2010 and set the stage for the next chapter of its neighborly rivalry on Sunday morning in the final event of the 2026 Games.
