Domino Square’s waterfront ice skating rink reopens in November

After a successful debut last year, Williamsburg’s first waterfront ice skating rink at Domino Park will return this winter. Two Trees Management announced Monday that the 7,000-square-foot rink will open on November 10, offering New Yorkers the chance to skate with scenic views of the skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge through February 22, 2026. The rink’s popular DJ nights, holiday-themed skate events, live performances, and other seasonal activities will return, and this year it will also offer a semi-private party space for birthdays.

“Domino Square’s year-round programming has transformed this stretch of waterfront into a true community destination, and the ice rink is a perfect example of that,” Jed Walentas, principal at Two Trees Management, said.

“Last winter’s inaugural season showed just how valuable the rink was for Williamsburg, drawing local families, kids, and friends from across the neighborhood, as well as visitors and residents from around the city, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for year two.”

Presented by Aerie, the rink is located in Domino Square, a public plaza that opened in September 2024. Designed by landscape architecture firm Field Operations, the space features a bowl-like interior with a lifted edge, plantings, and tiered seating, as 6sqft previously reported.

Domino Square is situated between The Refinery at Domino, a 19th-century factory converted into modern offices, and One Domino Square, a residential development designed by Annabelle Selldorf with 160 condos and 400 rentals.

The rink features glass dasher boards and first-class Riedell skate rentals, providing a skating experience above and beyond typical seasonal outdoor rinks. Nearby, pizza spot Stretch Pizza has opened, offering a new culinary option for skaters to refuel after hitting the ice.

The plaza represents the final public component of Two Trees’ master plan, which redeveloped the 11-acre Domino Sugar factory site into a mixed-use neighborhood. It regularly hosts public activations such as farmers’ markets, graduations, salsa nights, movie nights, and more.

Last year’s standout events included Skate with Santa, held in partnership with the Ice Theatre of New York, and a program with Figure Skating in Harlem’s Young Professionals Committee, which supports girls’ empowerment, youth development, and figure skating.

The rink operates daily from 2:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Tickets will go on sale in October.
