Brooklyn detectives are looking for the suspect who shot two women in an apparent domestic dispute on Thursday night — leaving one of the victims fighting for her life.
Police said the gun violence erupted just before 10:30 p.m. on March 19 at an apartment building at 1625 Fulton St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Officers from the 81st Precinct rushed to the location after receiving a 911 call about an assault in progress.
When they arrived, they found a 21-year-old woman shot multiple times about the body, and a 40-year-old woman who sustained a gunshot wound to her abdomen. Citing sources, Pix-11 reported that the victims were sisters, but police sources could not confirm that detail to amNewYork.
EMS and police rushed the victims to Kings County Hospital. The 21-year-old woman was listed in critical condition, while the 40-year-old victim is in stable condition.
The NYPD is now investigating the incident as a likely domestic dispute. The circumstances leading up to the shooting were unknown as of Friday morning.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation. Police sources did not provide information about a possible suspect.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA). You can also submit tips online at crimestoppers.nypdonline.org, or on X (formerly Twitter) @NYPDTips. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
Through March 15, the 81st Precinct had reported just two shootings year-to-date, one more than the total at the same point in 2025.
